This course is great for all beginners and farmers in their early years who are struggling with aspects of the farming/business side of flowers. I took it in 2019 and the new info added to the 2020 course was amazing. Lisa gives freely of her knowledge and wants you to be a success. Lisa is a natural teacher and happily shares the wealth of knowledge she has gained in her many years of being a flower farmer. This was the course I needed to help me focus in on the important things needed to begin my farm. Lisa and her team provide in-depth, insightful information needed to grow well and develop a customer base. I am in a northern region and I was able to adapt Lisa’s information for my zone with ease. I loved the live Zoom Q&A’s and Lisa’s continued help online. I highly recommend this course!

Love Lisa’s down-to-earth attitude and practicality. Some good, solid information in here, and the categories of information are very useful for thinking through all the things you need to think through. Presentation is a little dated—it’s mostly voice over PowerPoint bullets. I would have liked more videos, or at least photographs, showing the specifics of how she does things.

I really debated if it was worth the money to take this course. Now I can say that it definitely was worth it! Lisa did a great job teaching us how to properly start a business, grow seedlings, plant flowers, and harvest them. I loved the class and have learned so much from Lisa! Absolutely loved the class. It was so well laid out and is the best starting spot for me. I like to do things right and can be a perfectionist (which means I procrastinate). If you are on the fence about whether or not to take this class like I was, let me encourage you to just DO IT! I had followed Lisa online for a couple of years longing to take her class, but not daring to spend the money. I bought her Cool Flowers book and it quickly became my #1 resource that I referred to daily while planning, planting, and harvesting my garden. I consider myself a very experienced gardener for over 30 years, but her cool flower methods were a huge game changer for me. I live on a frugal budget so I agonized about whether I should spend money on this class. Would it be worth it? How could I justify it? This cut flower farming online course was beyond anything I thought it would or could be. It worth every coin it cost and beyond. I was hesitant about an online course, but Lisa Ziegler knock it out the park. I am a hand on, tell show do person and she for filled all that. The information from start to finish was outstanding.

I really enjoyed this course! I was nervous because I took the Floret workshop earlier this year and thought there would be a lot of overlapping info. However, I felt like every class had new info and lots of practical tips that were different than Floret’s, thus expanding my flower farming knowledge even more. I love that Lisa teaches so much about cool flowers, soil blocking, and her methods of farming and marketing. I love how she’s tried so many different avenues of sales such as farmer’s markets, CSA’s, member only market, florists, online classes, etc. Her many years of experience and lessons learned is another reason this course is worth every penny. Her live Q&As are really beneficial as well. Just beginning my flower farming experience but I think this was an excellent class and excellent way to get started. Lisa does an awesome job of sharing her previous wins and loses to help us learn. A ton of information in a short time but the ability to go back and listen to everything as many times and for as long as needed is invaluable. Wow, this was an amazing “workshop.” Although it took me a long time to get through all the sessions, now that I’ve completed it, I’m a little sad about that! What an incredible wealth of information Lisa has shared, and all of it so down-to-earth and pragmatic. I started a few years ago with a holding bed for my gardens, which turned into a small cutting garden, which turned into a bigger cutting garden. I grow flowers primarily for use in my small floral design business. Lisa has helped me do everything more efficiently and cost effectively, and I’m seeing way more stems coming out of my little beds, and I’ve extended the growing season as well. This online school is really great for so many reasons! I’m an aspiring flower farmer here in central North Carolina, and it’s been so helpful to learn from Lisa who’s in my same zone, but in Virginia, with regards to what grows well (and what doesn’t), pest pressures, and the like. I’m not so business savvy, so I appreciated the business advice – it’s ok to start small, focus on growing a consistent and quality product for your customers, that business can be small, ramp up to higher production for a while, then scale down again and diversify or change directions. The weekly live sessions with Lisa are a great forum to get more information or clarification and for the little pearls of wisdom that come up. Lisa is very generous with her knowledge of flower farming (the growing and the business) and this was a really worthwhile investment.

A couple of years ago I read Lisa’s book “Cool Flowers” followed by “Flowers Love Vegetables” – both books I highly recommend and refer back to often. I took Lisa’s class because I was intrigued with the cool flowers concept and how straight forward her teaching style is. I highly highly recommend this class. The scope of information is invaluable for anyone interested in pursuing this. While the course itself is terrific, the accessibility of Lisa following up with her students is incredible. She is genuinely interested in helping her students succeed – and does an amazing job answering questions through regular class follow ups as well as the private FB group associated with the course. After such a great experience with her class, I ended up taking every other class TGW offered. I found valuable information in each one – even if the subject matter didn’t necessarily apply to my goals at this time. The investment was worth it both in knowledge gained and hopefully mistakes averted!

Where to start!? We started flower farming on books and research for three years and the third winter we bit the bullet and paid for a course. The first thing I realized was how much I was doing wrong lol, creating work for myself. Lisa helped me stream line with a no nonsense approach to production. Invaluable to us. I keep going back over the course for things I didn’t glean! And the alumni page…man, I learn at least one new thing a day from the pooled experience. I have always loved plants and flowers, so I thought “some more knowledge” will be nice. I didn’t know what I was getting myself into 🙂 The course totally sucks you in! Great classes, so much information, I never expected to learn this much. Lisa(she leads to classes) has a great way of explaining things in a way that even somebody who never farmed before (nor had a garden of their own like me) can understand and actually do it too! I learned so many details that if I tried to do this on my own it would have taken me years of trial and error!

Which flower seeds to purchase? How to get the beds ready? Who am I going to sell to? where should I start? How does one start? marketing? what should I do? what to do with the flowers after they are cut? Where do I order the “stuff”. What “stuff” do I actually really need?
The course explains all this plus a lot more.

Lisa has an online support group who answers all our quuestions as we really grow and sometimes “struggle” with unexpected: weather/ winds/pests/plants growing slower, pests etc and you always have someone to “help”.

During the classes once a week there is also a “Live Q&A” and Lisa answers any question you might have to the previous class, what really helps to make sure you understood the class. You also have an access to the previous years Q&A and that helps tons.

If I ever tried this on my own, I would have achieved 7/100. With the class, I think I got 90/100 and the rest is on me to figure out. If you are hesitant whether to buy the “expensive course”, please DO! You will make the money back in no time, selling beautiful flowers the right way! You will be a professional the first year, not just someone with flowers! It makes all the difference!

PS: I didn’t know at the beginnig if I was going to “like” Lisa and her classes. So I purchased a short course “The Easy Cut Flower Garden” to “test” her our, see how those courses run. Well, she swept me of my feet, I loved the course and I decided she was the right person for my money. Today I have my first flower ever blooming and I will sell them this weekend for Mothers Day!

Great course. Dave explained everything so that even a rookie like me understood what he was teaching. I will continue to monitor the course for updates. Thanks Dave Dowling and Lisa Mason Ziegler for helping us all become better flower farmers.

We have been growing veggies for 18 years and flowers for 15. I took both Dave’s and Lisa’s course this past winter and learned a lot about some new ways and flowers to plant. Some of the info i won’t be able to use now but the great thing is I can go back and reference the information when I’m ready for that next step! I highly recommend both courses!!

I’m a newbie grower from Southeast Asia. Since I have a different growing zone, I asked Dave with questions that are completely not in sync with what my other classmates asked. Dave answers all of my questions in details and extensively. I got my answers for all these questions that I have for so long. Totally worth it. I encourage all the growers around the world to take this course.

Same goes for Lisa course as well. For those of you who’s interested in flower farming I encourage you guys to take Lisa course as well!

Lisa’s course lays the foundation for flower farming and then Dave’s course makes it explode with knowledge! I learned so much and am presently trying new plants and flowers that I discovered through his course. What a great team these guys make!! Highly recommend this class!!!

I took both classes this past year. I was afraid I might be wasting my money. I have been a home gardener for 25 years and know a lot about flowers and plants and growing conditions in the landscape. However, I learned quickly that is not the same as flower Farming! Lisa and Dave both have a wealth of knowledge that have been extremely helpful to me to get started in cut flower production. I also love that I can go back and listen to different parts of a course to refresh my memory! You will learn to work smarter and plan better from these courses!
